Nonnahús Akureyri postcard

This is a vintage black-and-white postcard depicting Nonnahús, the childhood home of Icelandic author Jón Sveinsson (Nonni, 1857–1944), located in Akureyri, North Iceland. The front shows the classic turf-roofed wooden house with white-framed windows, chimney, bench in the yard, and surrounding hillside—representative of traditional Icelandic rural architecture from the late 19th/early 20th century.

The back is printed with the title “NONNAHÚS, AKUREYRI” at the top. It credits publication by Útg. Zontaklúbbur Akureyrar (Akureyri Zonta Club), photo by V. Sigurgeirsson, and includes a blank address/message area with publisher’s logo.

Nonnahús is now a museum dedicated to Nonni’s life and his children’s books, a key cultural site in Akureyri.
