Bank of England £5 note from Series E, first issued on 7 June 1990. The front features Queen Elizabeth II and a seated Britannia. The reverse shows railway pioneer George Stephenson (1781–1848) with his Rocket locomotive of 1829. Designed by Roger Withington. Size 135 × 70 mm. Predominantly turquoise-blue. Demonetized on 21 November 2003.
