Norges Medaljen 1977
Norges Medaljen 1977 (Norway Medal 1977), part of the Nordisk Kunstmedalje Serie issued by Anders Nyborg A/S.
The medal was designed by Finnish artist Reidar Särestöniemi (1925–1981) and produced in bronze by Kultateollisuus, Finland. It measures 70 mm in diameter. Published examples identify the series as a limited, individually numbered issue of 5,000 medals.
The obverse features a highly sculptural, textured composition with human faces and a prominent animal/fish-like form, characteristic of Särestöniemi’s distinctive artistic style. The reverse presents a densely modelled scene with numerous human and animal forms. The medal is signed by Reidar Särestöniemi.
