Restaurant Perlen Nuuk toothpick holder
This is a vintage promotional toothpick holder from Restaurant Perlen in Nuuk, Greenland. The holder is made of printed paper (cardstock) folded into a rectangular shape. The front is gold with black printing showing “Restaurant Perlen Nuuk” and a stylized black logo of a pearl or oyster shell containing a circle. The bottom flap reads “BORDDBESTILLING PÅ TLF. 2 30 40” (Table reservation phone number 2 30 40). The holder contains a small bundle of original wooden toothpicks. The holder measures approximately 5 cm × 3.5 cm × 1.5 cm when closed.
These paper holders were common promotional items for restaurants in Greenland and Scandinavia during the mid-20th century, often placed on tables or given to customers after meals.
