This bronze commemorative medal celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Icelandic Printers Association (Prentlistamannafélag Íslands / Prentlistist Prentlistafélagið), founded in 1897. Issued in 1972, it is a handsome tribute to Iceland’s printing and graphic arts heritage.

  • Obverse: Detailed high-relief depiction of a historic printing press (screw press with handle, stacked type forms), encircled by the raised inscription “PRENTLIST PRÉNTLIST PRÉNTLIST GÖDA” .
  • Reverse: Majestic double-headed eagle (symbol of craftsmanship guilds and authority) clutching a hammer and chisel, wings spread in heraldic style. Encircling inscription “ÍSLENZKA PRENTARAFÉLAGIÐ 1897–1972” (The Icelandic Printers Association 1897–1972).
